Beyond receiving nearly six years of brilliant training from Karen Sussman and the Professional Voice Care Center, working with Karen has turned me into a better artist and a better person. Five NYSSMA solos, countless audition songs and more than half a decade of training later, it was Karen’s training that helped give me confidence in my voice as a singer, songwriter and performer. Recently, I made my Feinstein’s/54 Below debut as a singer/songwriter, and having Karen’s genius guide me–from “breaking thy body armor” to understanding the musical journey of a song–has made all the difference as a musical storyteller. At this point, almost the entire Recce clan has made their way into the hallowed halls of her studio–and here’s hoping they too will be added to the list of notable alumni–because with training from Karen, it’s impossible not to end up on her list of revered alum!
