“For those of you who’ve known Professional Voice Care Center as a fixture in the Long Island voice and speech training community for decades, and have visited our Center in Hicksville, you may be surprised to see that all sessions are now being held via online videoconferencing platforms. The coronavirus pandemic profoundly changed everything for so many of us. It took me a couple of very upsetting weeks to get over my bout with COVID-19, and I don’t want to see anyone else contract this virus.
Our first priority is always the health and safety of our clients and staff. Research has shown that singing and loud speaking (something we do often in our studios and offices!) produce high level of aerosols, which can easily spread throughout a choir rehearsal room or singing studio. This may increase the likelihood of transmission of COVID-19. Therefore, our response to the pandemic is to keep all our sessions online to avoid face-to-face contact in our Center, until scientific and medical guidance allows for safe in-person voice and speech sessions once again.
The online sessions that Professional Voice Care Center has offered for years are convenient, easy, and safe for everyone. Our clients are getting so much out of their online visits; they’re telling us they are as effective as in-person sessions, without the commute!
We look forward to seeing you online, and to safely meet with you in person in the future!”
