Our Director & Founder, Karen Sussman, MA, CCC-SLP – Celebrity Singing Instructor, Vocologist, Award-Winning Teacher, & Veteran Performer has trained over 13,000 professional and amateur voice users to achieve vocal excellence since 1981. She also has 35+ years as a performing artist with over 1200 onstage appearances to date.

Nina Callahan, MS, CCC-SLP is a virtual singing teacher with Professional Voice Care Center. She is also a singing voice specialized Speech-Language Pathologist and Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology at UConn Health. She completed her clinical fellowship with Lakeshore Professional Voice Center in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

Nina holds a Master of Science in Speech- Language Pathology from Stony Brook School of Health Professions. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medical Biology specialized in Neuroscience, with a double major in Psychology, and a minor in Italian. Nina is currently engaged in research and has presented around the country on various topics pertaining to Voice regarding neurodiversity and connective tissue disorders.

Nina is a classically trained singer, with a varied professional performance background in musical theater, classical, and jazz genres. She has participated in performance roles in NYSSMA, LISFA, and SCMEA. Nina has also played administrative roles for NYSSMA and SCMEA Day of Horns. She has performed with Stage 74, North Fork Community Theatre, as well as in private performances on the East End of Long Island. In an effort to engage singing professionals in supporting their vocal health, Nina has presented in a symposium on vocal health at the Hartt School of Music, and The Voice Foundation. Most recently, she has studied healthy vocal distortion techniques by Sarah Kervin and Geddy Warner. She looks forward to sharing her eclectic appreciation for vocal stylings in her work as a singing teacher with you.
